ALLERGIC RHINITIS IN THE LARGE INDUSTRIAL REGION: PREVALENCE, ETHIOLOGY AND ASSOCIATION WITH BRONCHIAL ASTHMA

A.V. Batarchukov

In order to evaluate the prevalence of allergic rhinitis (AR) a questionnaire-based screening investigation was performed in randomised groups of adults aged from 20 to 59, living in rural settlements. Allergological tests, used in screening-positive persons, included a standard set of house-related and pollen allergens. The fact, that in these cases polyvalent sensibilization was found 2-fold more often, gives the possibility to consider it as an additional risk factor of bronchial asthma development in AR patients.
