COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF PECTIN PREPARATIONS EFFICIENCY UNDER MERCURY EXPOSURE

K.P. Kozlov, I.M. Andrusyshyna, M.M. Didenko

Accumulation of mercury in blood, liver and kidney after intraperitoneal administration of mercury chloride in low doses (1/300, 1/150, 1/100, 1/50 DL50) was investigated taking into account age peculiarities and protective action of pectin. Mercury accumulation was characterized by two-phase period different by organs and ages. Sugar-beet pectin demonstrated better efficiency for middle-aged rats which can be explained by its better binding properties, while pectin-vitamin dragee was more efficient for adult rats probably due to positive influence of biologically active additions.
