TO THE QUESTION ON PREVENTION FROM APOPTOTIC DEVELOPMENT IN NEURONS BY FLAVONOIDS, FENOLIC COMPOUNDS FROM PLANT PTODUCTS

Present conceptions on molecular links of apoptosis in neurons induced by oxidative stress in vivo and in vitro are presented in this review.

The peculiarities of such antioxidants of low molecular weight as flavonoids are analysed. Namely their ability to avert beginning and progress of apoptosis in neurocytes by means of neutralizing active oxygen and nitrogen species is under consideration.

It was shown that attenuation of proapoptotic signaling activation in neurons by flavonoids possibly presented mechanism to prevent from alterative changes in nerve tissue.

Modern nutriceutic approaches to flavonoid dependent phytomodification of apoptotic initiation processes in neurons will make it possible to optimize drug mediated control of programmed cell death development under clinical conditions.
