Herbicides containing 2,4-D acid are widely used in world and in Ukraine as foliar applied herbicides for the post emergence control of broad-leaved weeds. The main aim of our research was to assess the risk rising from use of 2,4-D herbicides in agro-climatic zones of Ukraine. For assessing real quantity of residues in agricultural commodities we studied dissipation of 2,4-D in agro-climatic conditions of Ukraine during 1998—2003 years. Field trials were conducted in Ukraine with 2,4-D acid, 2,4-D DMA salts and 2EHE. Herbicide residues in grain and straw were not detectable at harvest time. Based on conducted researches we considered that a dietary intake of 2,4-D residues is unlikely to present public health concern.
