Summerized in the review are modern ideas about chemical structure and biochemichal /pharmacological action of the flavonoids have been identified in plant sources. The flavonoids are typical phenolic compounds and, therefore, act as potential mental chelators, and free radical scavengers, that detects the method of their detoxication. The antiapoptical/proapoptical effect of the flavonoids described in detail can be useful by alaboration of the therapeutical ways of protection of organs — goals from the influence of the medicinal and chemicaly-produced citotoxity.
