The nutrition of this population segment has a limited food assortment; the energetic value of food products is at 65% level of value that has been grounded from physiological standpoints for this age group. The arranged free meals improve their nutritional status to some extent through do not attain recommended values. The caloricity is on average at the level of 3031,1±65,9 kcal/daily. With a sufficiently broad assortment of food products (more than 50 names per year), the consumption rates are unbalanced relative separate groups of foodstaffs and do not meet the physiological needs of an aging organism. Taking into account discrepancies revealed by us in the nutritional structure of single non-working elderly citizens, we recommend introduction in nutrition practice at both territorial centers and boarding homes the set of food products, developed by us, which ensure the optimal needs of aging organism in the main nutrients and energy as well as possess geroprotective properties.
